{"id":4744,"date":"2023-07-12T17:07:58","date_gmt":"2023-07-12T15:07:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.outscale.com\/a-roadmap-between-resilience-performance-and-security\/"},"modified":"2023-11-29T18:18:37","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T16:18:37","slug":"a-roadmap-between-resilience-performance-and-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.outscale.com\/en\/a-roadmap-between-resilience-performance-and-security\/","title":{"rendered":"A roadmap between resilience, performance and security"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The new roadmap for OUTSCALE, the sovereign and sustainable operator of Trusted Business Experience as a Service, was unveiled by Arnaud Bertrand, CTO &amp; SVP Cloud R&amp;D, during the CLOUD DAYS 2023 Plenary.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>So, What are the Technological Innovations to Come?<\/h1>\n<p>First of all, the new layered model will be able to support all Dassault Syst\u00e8mes platforms (Medidata, 3DEXPERIENCE&#8230;) by enabling all developers to free themselves from managing the underlying infrastructure thanks to an Abstraction layer (PaaS), and to be able to use infrastructure layers from other hyperscalers (multicloud).<\/p>\n<p>Next, three Cloud models will enable institutions and enterprises with sensitive data and applications to strengthen their digital autonomy through a Cloud experience broken down into three levels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The International Cloud: an international public Cloud for secure collaboration, that benefits from internationally recognized certifications (HDS, TISAX, ISO 27001, ISO 26000&#8230;) ;<\/li>\n<li>Sovereign Cloud: a trusted Cloud within a common regulatory and fiscal space, covered by sovereign certifications by country in addition to international certifications (SecNumCloud, ITAR);<\/li>\n<li>Dedicated Cloud: a Cloud dedicated to sovereign collaboration in the customer&#8217;s own environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>New Features Unveiled<\/h1>\n<p>New features will be added in 2023-2024, including DirectLink and virtual DirectLink, available almost immediately and without configuration, enabling a direct datacenter-to-datacenter connection, Dedicated Group to complement the isolation capabilities offered by virtualization, VM Group to create VM templates with common characteristics and manipulate all VMs associated with this template at the same time (the first step towards autoscaling). Other updates include a new version of Cockpit with an improved interface and a new IAM.<\/p>\n<p>As object storage is a key element in the switch to Cloud computing and <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.outscale.com\/en\/outscale-cloud-resilience-to-offset-potential-power-outages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resilience in the Cloud<\/a>, a new object storage infrastructure with enhanced performance will be offered (the only SecNumCloud-qualified object storage service on the market to date).<\/p>\n<p>Arnaud Bertrand also announced the availability of a new range of next-generation CPUs (Ice Lake and Kaby Lake) that will enable customers to increase their computing power, the processing speed of their workloads, as well as their energy efficiency. Better adapted to today&#8217;s user requirements, this new generation of processors will deliver a better user experience and faster task execution.<\/p>\n<p>The arrival of the much anticipated NVIDIA GPU A100 graphics cards was also announced by OUTSCALE&#8217;s CTO. Designed to offer high-performance graphics power, they enable you to explore new horizons and experience total immersion with 3D modeling and other more demanding simulations and more complex projects. OUTSCALE offers unique GPU services in France, available as part of the SecNumCloud qualified public cloud offering.<\/p>\n<p>This year, OUTSCALE is taking steps to obtain SOC 2 type 2 certification: a framework for demonstrating the security controls put in place to protect customer data in the Cloud.
